    P3A’s Open House

P3A was excited to welcome clients and consultants to our Open House in our new office. This is usually an annual event, but it had been postponed for a few years. We asked attendees to bring items in support of Salvation Army Regina Haven of Hope and we collected a range of needed items. Thanks to everyone who attended, to Crave for the excellent food, to Harreson James Band for the music, and Wascana Flower Shop for the flowers. Guests enjoyed taking home our appreciation gifts from Filigree Patissiere and thrity3coffee.

    Darke Hall Wins Heritage Award

P3A was proud to accept a 2023 Heritage Award from Heritage Saskatchewan for the Darke Hall Revitalization project. Completed in April 2022, the project restored a historic gem to full use as a performance and gathering space. It included a full exterior envelope restoration of the existing heritage building and a revitalization of the interior which prioritized historic restoration of many character defining elements. The project is an excellent example of a partnership between the University, the design team, the community, and the private sector to save and revitalize an important part of the province’s built heritage.

    Alice Davidson Becomes RHFAC™ Professional

P3A is proud to announce that Alice Davidson, Interior Designer, has obtained her Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification™ Professional designation. As the Rick Hansen Foundation explains, “Canadians struggle every day to access spaces because of physical barriers to accessibility – including people with temporary or permanent disabilities, our aging population, and parents with strollers….the Rick Hansen Foundation identified the need for a consistent, professionally administered rating system to address the currently fragmented landscape of building codes and standards. Launched in British Columbia in 2017, this rating system evaluates the accessibility of commercial, retail, multi-unit residential, and public buildings.”

    Congratulations Alice!

Moose Jaw Joint Use School Breaks Ground

The new Moose Jaw Joint Use School broke ground in May. The school will serve the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division and the Prairie South School Division in southwest Moose Jaw. This project is led by SPRA (Strategic Prairie Regional Alliance) - P3A’s Joint Venture with aodbt architecture + interior design.

Aimed for completion in 2025, the facility will accommodate over 900 students and provide childcare spaces to the community. The design draws inspiration from prairie grasses against a blue sky. The innovative design solution will result in more shared space than is typical in joint-use schools and speaks to the willingness of the school divisions to collaborate.
