October 18th 2016École Gravelbourg School Official Opening
P3A attended the grand opening of the new École Gravelbourg School. The existing high school underwent renovations and an addition to accommodate the elementary school. The project vision was developed with students, staff and community members using a collaborative design process modelled after LEAN best practices.
The dramatic update contains spaces that facilitate communication, engagement and instruction. It includes more than 11,000 sq ft of additional space, 5 new classrooms, practical and applied arts space, a new library and media centre, multipurpose and common areas, and new administration offices. The Play & Learn Daycare is also connected to the school, bringing early learning, elementary and secondary education under one roof. The school is an example of how 21st Century learning spaces can be created in a dual track school.
